Typically, you publish the whole Knowledge Base(KB) and all the pages are public. However, some folks keep the KB private for their internal team.
However, sometimes you need to allow someone from outside to access a specific page. The unlisted link allows you to share the unlisted link with an outsider. The outsider will be able to see only the page that was shared and not the rest of the pages in the KB.
These unlisted links can be configured to self-destruct after a certain period or manually disabled as needed.
Here is how you can generate unlisted public link for an article:
Go to article details on the admin panel.
Click on the triple dots option in the top right corner.
-
Click on the Unlisted link option.
A modal will be shown.
Set it to auto-expire (optional).
Copy and share the link.
If you no longer want the content to be accessible via the unlisted link, you can disable the link, which will prevent others from accessing the content through that URL.
Here's how you can disable an unlisted link:
Go to article details on the admin panel.
Click on the triple dots option in the top right corner.
Click on the Unlisted link option
A modal will be shown.
Click on Disable link button.
Once disabled, the link will no longer be accessible, and anyone who had the link will no longer be able to view the article.
